Poor oral health can be the cause of liver cancer
According to a study conducted at Queen’s University Belfast , poor oral hygiene can lead to liver cancer. Researchers who conducted the study found that people who had oral diseases such as bleeding gums, mouth ulcers, tooth loss or concussion had a 75 percent higher risk of hepatocellular carcinoma. This is common for liver cancer.
In this study, more than 4.5 lakh people of Britain were included. The risk of oral health and gastrointestinal cancer was analyzed in these people. The researchers found that 4,069 of the people involved in the research developed gastrointestinal cancer over 6 years. In 13% of these cases, poor oral hygiene was found in the patients.

The question that comes to the mind of many people is how oral health increases the risk of liver cancer. Experts say that there can be two reasons behind this.
